Group Class Schedule

Below is a list of upcoming group classes.
Unless otherwise noted, all listings held at Unity of Fort Wayne Spiritual Center, 3232 Crescent Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.

Chair Yoga

Tuesdays 3p-4p

This class is open to anyone who would like to gain the benefits of yoga while having the support of a chair for your practice. We will do both seated and standing poses, joint freeing movements, awareness and breath work and every session will end with a relaxation practice. Chair Yoga offers the exact same benefits as a “regular” yoga practice which can include: better mobility, flexibility, strength, sleep, improved immune response, better perception and reduced stress. No yoga experience necessary, wear comfortable clothing and bring an open heart.

During this 1 hour All Levels session we will focus on joint freeing, range of motion, balance and strengthening movements with a strong focus on breath. Every class will offer therapeutic balancing/energizing breath practices and guided relaxation/meditation. Gentle Therapeutic Yoga offers some of the same benefits as “regular” yoga while focusing on resetting the nervous system by activating the rest and healing functions of the parasympathetic nervous system. This All Levels class is a wonderful complement to other more “strenuous” workouts and practices.  General yoga benefits can also include strengthening your immune system, improving balance, range of motion, sleep quality and helping to ease the effects of anxiety and stress on the mind and body. No yoga experience necessary. 

 

These classes are donation based (suggested donation $10), bring a friend, a mat, an open mind and dress comfortably.
